PTFE bushings - 15% Glass + 5% MoS2 Filled
This kind of PTFE bushings is filled with 15% Glass and 5% MoS2 Fillers. Often used together with glass or bronze, Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) as a PTFE filler results in a more slippery and harder material. MoS2 also improves compression and wear resistance.
MoS2 as one of the best known dry lubricants can improve surface strength and lower friction and wear rate coefficient, while the glass fibers provide structural strengthening. The glass does not get influenced by chemical or electrical specifications, nor will the MOS2.
This material is widely used in hydraulic and pnematic tubes to reciprocate seals. The PTFE bushings - 15% Glass Filled & 5% MoS2 are very useful for dynamic seals.
The material comes with a hardness of 58 shore D. The compounds are 15 % clean milled glass fibres + 5% MoS2 + 80 % virgin PTFE and the bushings are available in grey colour.
It has good strength and reduced cold flow, both at high and low temperatures. It offers improved wear and friction behaviour.
PTFE bushings - 15% Glass Filled & 5% MoS2 are suitable for seals in hydraulic applications with low to middle pressure values.
