PTFE bushings - 10% PEEK filled

The offered filled PTFE bushings with PEEK are a high modulus material with excellent high temperature resistance. Excellent for back-up rings only. PEEK filled PTFE bushings contains of 90% PTFE virgin material and 10% PEEK. It is available in cream colour and comes in a hardness of 60 shore D.

This material is comparable to PTFE Ekonol, but it is approved by FDA.

For industrial uses that require higher temperature resistance and higher hardness, the PTFE bushings can be reinforced with PEEK filler.

PEEK filler has a reduced thermal expansion rate and greatly improved thermal conductivity. PTFE as a base material has the main advantage of reducing the coefficient of friction while the tribological grade of PEEK improves its mechanical properties, but at the same time leaves the mixture with a relatively low friction coefficient.

This way the PTFE bushings with PEEK reinforcement stay with low coefficient of friction and high mechanical strength.

Filled PTFE with PEEK is resistant to almost all chemicals, however it's not resistant to halogenides, elemental fluorine, CF3, molten alkali metals. PEEK filled PTFE can be used safely for any Foodstuff applications and is approved by FDA.
